Alan Shearer ‘Worried’ After What’s Happened at Newcastle

England legend Alan Shearer has slammed Newcastle’s disappointing performance in Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Brentford in the Premier League.

Despite trailing twice in the first half, the Magpies managed to ทางเข้า ufabet equalise, but in the second half, the team conceded two more goals and could not recover, ending the game with defeat. Shearer admitted that he was concerned about what was happening to his old team at the moment, which has not won in 4 consecutive games.

“I don’t like the attitude of a lot of the Newcastle players,” Shearer told BBC Match of the Day. “You can’t have the performances in the big games at home, they drew Liverpool, they drew (Manchester) City, they beat Spurs, they beat Chelsea, they beat Arsenal.

“The team was so poor in defence, Thiago was so strong on Fabian Schar, I saw Lewis Hall with his hands behind his back when he wasn’t in the left-back area and you can’t expect him to turn around.”

“Harvey Barnes made a mistake, okay it was a bad pass but look at the defence, Fabian Schar has to make a tackle at one point, he has to try to make a tackle, Dan Burn has to get back, he shouts at Schar and pushes him outside but he (Schar) never gets close, Wissa gets a free-kick, you have to make a tackle at one point.”

“It’s a concern because two years ago we always admired Newcastle with their energy, their closing down, their pressing. They didn’t have that (against Brentford).”

“Nobody gets within five yards of a Brentford player. Every time they come into the final third, that’s not good enough. It’s unacceptable. That’s why they lost the game.”
